THE ADIDAS TRACKSUIT

I met Holly during The Drops Market at Coal Drops Yard in 12/2022. She asked me to create a special project for her upcoming birthday party in Feb 2023. She gave me her Adidas tracksuit and asked for a party-themed print. The references she gave were: clubbing, house music, party, acid house etc. I really enjoyed working on this project as I could explore symbolism behind the house music culture. As the tracksuit was a small size and didn’t have enough flat surface to print on the top part, I decided to print on separate pieces of fabric (100% silk) and add functional pockets and patches to the front and back. The leftover fabric was turned into a mini rucksack.
